Still missing my tree... It has been almost a year since the Colorado Department of Transportation cut down the Peace Tree and I still have people making comments about wishing it was still there.

It is sad in a world so full of violence and commercialism, we can't keep up messages of hope and harmony.

I am still looking for a new home for the tree... if you want to know more go to www.thePeacetree.org

Ah yes, the Peace Tree. Another fine example of CDOT's extreme intelligence and tactful public relations methods. But then they have moved into the deforestation business, Soon they will have a bunch to cut after they kill them all will mag chloride and other crap. Stupid assholes is all they are!

LOL! Yepper's, they sure are not the sharpest crayons in the box. And really, what did the Peace Tree hurt? Nothing whatsoever. That whole deal was about power and control. But in the end it kinda shit back in their faces. The Peace Tree became a symbol in the community and a benefit centered around the tree raised quite a bit of money for great causes. It is sad they cut it down though. I enjoyed seeing it as I drove by. But such is the world today.

The Peace Tree was located on Highway 34 in the Big Thompson Canyon. The State eventually won out and the owner cut the tree down.

A benefit was then organized with the Peace Tree as a symbol. A benefit concert was held at Mishawaka Amphitheatre in the Poudre Canyon.

The proceeds from this benefit went to help disabled vets and their families. The Peace Tree still sits on the stage at the Mishawaka.
